From December 8th to 10th, Li Mingxiang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), led an IDCPC delegation to visit Mauritius. Li met with Dhananjay Ramful, General Secretary of the ruling Labour Party and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade of Mauritius, and Maneesh Gobin, General Secretary of the Militant Socialist Movement (MSM) of Mauritius. Li also held discussions and exchanges with representatives from Mauritian political parties, think tanks, and media outlets on the spirit of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. Ding Peiyi, Chargé d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Mauritius, attended the above-mentioned activities.
Li said, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mauritius in 1972, the two countries have always adhered to mutual respect and equality, setting a fine example for relations between countries of different sizes and South-South cooperation. The CPC is willing to work with Mauritian political parties to implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and the leaders of Mauritius and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), firmly support each other on issues concerning core interests and major concerns, enhance exchanges at all levels, and strengthen experience exchanges in state governance and administration to make contributions as political parties to the development of the China-Mauritius strategic partnership.



Ramful said, the Labour Party government attaches importance to developing friendly relations with China, firmly adheres to the one-China principle, and is willing to work with China to deepen practical cooperation in various fields, promote the continuous development of bilateral relations, and strive to make Mauritius a gateway for cooperation between Africa and China. Gobin said, the MSM will continue to support China in safeguarding its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and is willing to maintain close exchanges with the CPC, learn from the CPC's experience in party building, and strengthen its own capacity building.
In light of Mauritius' development needs, Li elaborated on the spirit of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, systematically introduced the main goals and six guiding principles that must be followed for China's economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), emphasized the important strategic significance of the plenary session for China and the world, and expressed China's willingness to strengthen strategic alignment between the 15th Five-Year Plan and “A Blueprint for Mauritius – A Bridge to the Future (2025–2029)” of Mauritius, promote in-depth and substantial development of mutually beneficial cooperation, and better benefit the people of both countries.

The Mauritian side highly praised the great achievements in Chinese modernization under the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the CPC Central Committee, believing that China's development achievements are a positive contribution to the world. They are confident that China will achieve its strategic goals during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030) as scheduled. The Mauritian side said, as an island nation in the Indian Ocean, Mauritius is willing to ride on the fast train of China's development, strengthen practical cooperation with China in areas such as trade, investment, agricultural modernization, blue economy, and green energy, and make good use of the valuable opportunities brought by China's high-quality development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030) for Mauritius-China cooperation.
