Beijing, May 29th—The International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) held an activity themed Meeting IDCPC here today. Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, met with a delegation of Columbia China Trek 2026 from the US.

Lu introduced the main content of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and the important consensus reached at the meeting between the Chinese and US heads of state. He emphasized that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), China will further expand high-level opening-up, and regard the implementation of the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative and the Global Governance Initiative as an important path to promote the building of a community with a shared future for humanity and advance the major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics. Recently, President Xi Jinping held talks with US President Donald Trump, who paid a state visit to China. The two sides agreed to build a "China-US constructive strategic stable relationship" as the new positioning of China-US relations, which provides strategic guidance for the development of bilateral relations. China and the US should jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen exchanges, expand cooperation, build mutual trust, and promote the healthy, stable and sustainable development of bilateral relations. It is hoped that Columbia University students will experience a true, diverse, three-dimensional and beautiful China through this visit, and enhance mutual exchanges and learning among young people of all countries.
The students said that the delegation of nearly 30 members comes from more than 10 countries including the US, Canada, India, the Czech Republic, Australia, Germany, Brazil, Colombia and France. China’s development achievements have attracted worldwide attention, with its manufacturing industry leading the world, rapid development of high-tech industries, remarkable results in green transformation and continuously enhancing cultural soft power. China has not only achieved rapid development itself, but also upheld the concepts of solidarity, openness and cooperation, and is committed to safeguarding world peace and stability. China’s development model has also provided an important reference for countries around the world, especially developing countries, to explore their own development paths. They expected that China’s 15th Five-Year Plan would inject greater impetus into world development, hoping that US-China relations would continue to develop steadily. They are willing to make positive efforts to strengthen exchanges among young people of the two countries and all countries.
Lu answered nearly 20 questions from the students on China’s foreign policy, China-US, China-EU, China-Africa and China-Latin America relations, as well as artificial intelligence, green development and global governance in a friendly and lively atmosphere.
